The sixth annual International Symposium on Media Innovations

16–17 October 2017, Tallinn University, Estonia

The sixth International Symposium on Media Innovations will unite academic researchers and industry representatives to discuss how innovations happen in contemporary media. The symposium is oriented both to theorisation of media innovation phenomena as well learning about evidence, innovation strategies and considering their policy implications.

The focus of the Media Innovations symposium is on the dynamics of change in all kinds of contemporary media. We aim to explore how the complex interrelationships between changing technologies, economic environment, modes of usage or policy imperatives bring about the transformation of the media industry. The symposium will work towards a dialogue between media industries and academic media research.

The symposium will be held at Tallinn University, Estonia, immediately before the AoIR 2017 conference in another Estonian city Tartu (18–21 October).
